Tho I do sometimes miss the low end torque--for ME this is a something of a replacement for the "crotch rockets" of my youth, the high revs *and throttle response* are crucial for both car and bike.

100% a great supercar. Mine was an '08 and thoroughly enjoyed driving it through the canyons in Salt Lake City. For me, it was the perfect blend between supercar and sports car. I very much enjoyed having the car and the purchase process with the private party in Canada was even better. It was very personal and the import process was a nail biter but I had all my documentation which allowed for a really awesome experience. I would and probably will buy another R8 at another time again.

I have driven the Black Series on the road and track, and disagree that it is not road friendly. It is really no different than the GT-R for every day driving. I do however, agree that the sound is dissapointing, and if you only drove on the road, and never hit the track, the GT-R with it's sound is just so much better.

I think, this sort of "gentleman's car", or "grand tour car", like this Ferrari 330GT or Aston Martin DB5, which you could drive through Europe easily, is dying. When people hear about Ferrari, they immediately think of either supercars or hypercars, which 99% of people can not afford. On the other hand, today there is this abomination called "crossover", it is a SUV, but it is also a "sporty car", like a duck trying to do everything.

I've got a 2010 white comp spec in manual. I'd really like to drive some other cars but I know I'll regret it terribly if I ever sell this one. I still think it's the best looking car on the road... imo.
